Rev. Roger Butts is an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister serving as a Staff Chaplain at Penrose St. Francis Health Services in Colorado Springs.
The Great Surmise says simply this: At the heart of all creation lies a good intent, a purposeful goodness, from which we come, by which we live our fullest, to which we shall at last return. And this is the supreme reality of our lives.
Roger Butts – My Story
As I age, one foot is committed to human dignity and human rights. I have long been an activist. My other foot, and this is fairly recent, is committed to the contemplative path. Maybe in the last 10 years. I went to Wesley Seminary in DC and loved it. I served churches in Davenport, Iowa and in Colorado Springs before becoming a chaplain. My wife is a minister in the United Church of Christ. I am especially interested in the work of Thomas Merton. I facilitate a centering prayer group in the Black Forest of Colorado Springs.
