Look. We know what the kings and the princes
and the proud and the haughty are up to.
They mock the way of justice and peace.
Their arrogance and power-lust is blinding.
They crack the whip.
They snap the backs of the poor.
They too will die, but before that
they will think they are fulfilled
but they are empty.
The eternal law (the flourishing of all)—
the Divine Presence—
these bring us to a new place,
a refuge, a dwelling that is sweet.
Turn back. It isn’t too late.
The way of peace calls.
The way of the sisterhood
and brotherhood
of all sounds forth.
